If there’s one thing Jesse and Adam’s wedding proves, it’s that when you lean fully into what you love, the result is nothing short of incredible. Their Austin celebration was equal parts elevated and playful. They turned the day into a true experience blending heartfelt moments with unexpected surprises, all while honoring the community and culture that shaped their relationship.
The start of their relationship began through a dating app before meeting for a drag brunch.
“Brunch led to drinks that led to dinner,” they shared, “and within a month, we spoke every day.” From there, their relationship unfolded naturally. After a thoughtfully long engagement, the big day finally came to say ‘I do.’
Choosing their venue came down to both practicality and heart.
“Finding a venue for more than 150 people was a challenge,” they explained, “so when we saw Assembly Hall and its location in East Austin, where we live, we felt it was fortuitous and a great way to highlight the neighborhood that we call home.” That sense of place carried throughout the entire day, with intentional nods to Austin woven into every detail.
The celebration unfolded with a relaxed yet refined flow. Guests began with a cocktail hour before being invited into the main hall for the ceremony. Their processional, set to a cover of “So Into You” by Donald Glover, was both meaningful and personal, featuring family members and culminating in a ceremony officiated by a close friend. Sporting muted green and dusty rose suits, the couple exchanged self-written vows and rings before sealing it with a kiss that effortlessly transitioned into dinner and dancing.
While there wasn’t a strict theme, their design told a cohesive story rooted in color, texture, and intention. A palette of burnt orange (a nod to Adam’s University of Texas roots), dusty rose, olive green, ivory, and marigold yellow created a warm, inviting atmosphere.
One of the most unique elements was their florals.
“We bought Sola Wood flowers and had them dyed to our wedding colors,” they said. “These wood flowers last forever and a fraction of the cost of live flowers, so we were able to order them in November and keep them in storage at home until the big day.”
The reception design was equally striking. Long, beautifully styled tables framed a central dance floor beneath glowing Edison lights, creating a space that felt both intimate and celebratory. As the sun set and the Austin skyline peeked through arched windows, the atmosphere shifted into full-on party mode.
With a curated menu of favorites, engraved wood napkin rings, beer salts featuring the pair’s travels and interactive experiences like a green screen photo booth and live fashion sketches, every moment was designed with guest experience in mind.
The night also delivered its fair share of surprises. After Jesse and Adam’s first dance to an Adele cover of “Lovesong,” the energy soared when two miniature Highland cows made their grand entrance, carrying light sticks to kick off the dance party.
