Steven and Timothy’s Intimate Botanic Garden Wedding in Miami

Few would characterize wedding planning as seamless, but that’s the first thought that came to Steven and Timothy’s mind when they looked back on their planning journey. They credit their small guest list — only six of their closest friends and family members — and the fact that they focused on the beauty of the commitment they were making to each other rather than the bells and whistles that come with an over-the-top wedding day. In the end, it couldn’t have been a more perfect day for the grooms, who got ready together at the Delano Hotel before they traveled by limo to the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Miami for a ceremony underneath the summer sun. It was an apt location to exchange vows as Steven proposed to Timothy while on a trip to the Berkshires in the garden of one of Steven’s favorite writer’s homes.

After Steven broke the glass and the grooms kissed, they shared their first dance in the butterfly conservatory at the Botanic Garden. “We danced to the song ‘Little Moon’ by MacKenzie Bourg,” they say. “It was such a magical moment to dance with butterflies all around us while our families watched lovingly.” Following the ceremony, Steven and Timothy treated their guests to a celebratory dinner at Leynia Restaurant. They concluded the day by cutting into a single tier chocolate cake and spent the rest of the night basking in wedded bliss. Cortiella Photography captured some incredibly memorable moments from their wedding day, which we couldn't love more, from their emotional vow exchange to the wide smiles on their faces as they begin a new journey in life as husbands.
