Love Lister Alexandra Knight Photography has done it again! This time, capturing Melanie and Nate’s wild and wonderful wedding at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle.
Complete with color and details as exotic as the animals, Melanie’s love for animals inspired the creative celebration; forgoing tradition and making the entire day their own.
They spent the morning getting ready separately before sharing a first look amongst the rose garden of the venue, where Melanie got to show off her gown.
“A highlight was Melanie's custom wedding dress, handcrafted and dyed by Wai-Ching Studio in Seattle,” states photographer Alexandra Knight. “It had everyone talking in a good way and the way her gown flowed in the breeze was so gorgeous.”
Their ceremony took place at the ground’s gazebo followed by cocktail hour where guests were able to interact with a slithering reptile.
Melanie and Nate were even able to pose for portraits near many of the exhibits before enjoying a reception in the environment of grizzly bears and river otters.
As if the space wasn’t already cool enough, they added a modern, yet charming twist by incorporating vintage books as centerpieces, a dark-colored wedding cake with flowers, and the prettiest floral arrangements – giving us all the storybook forest vibes!
“We enjoyed private after-hours access to the zoo for some epic couple photos. Melanie's way with animals was on true display when she caught the attention of one of the zoo's endangered tigers, who followed her the length of its exhibit before approaching her at the glass to interact with her. This was a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with animals at the zoo and I'll certainly never forget it!”
