Styling with Separates

Brittny Drye Founder + Editor-in-Chief of Love Inc. Magazine | On-Air Wedding Expert | LGBTQ+ Inclusivity in the Wedding Industry

As we count down the weeks to our next issue, I always enjoy looking back at the previous one. Our fashion spread celebrated separates, a trend that we've seen become even more prominent in the wedding fashion world since V2's July launch. We had the opportunity to showcase designers who were some of the first in the industry to show this trend in their collections. And, while we ran into a bit of a hiccup with our venue location unexpectedly closing just days before, we were truly blessed to work with a team of top professionals who made this feature one of my absolute favorites to work on. And special thanks to Deity Events for coming to our location rescue!

What's fun about separates is that they allow you to mix-and-match pieces to create a whole new look for the reception (another trend that's on the rise!). And you know how people always say how they wish we could wear their wedding dress every day? With separates you can! Pair that sparkly bridal bodice with your skinny jeans for date night, or take the tulle layer off to reveal a sexy little satin dress. Our fashion editor, Krista Roser, did an amazing job creating two completely different outfits within each look, just with a simple switcheroo while the talented gals of Face the Day made models Karin Agstam and Piper Werle‘s beauty looks transition beautifully. Photographer Ryan Carville brought our twin-inspired vision to life thanks to some clever Photoshop and kickass photography skills.
