OITNB’s Samira Wiley and Lauren Morelli Tie the Knot in Palm Springs

Over the weekend, “Orange is the New Black” star Samira Wiley and writer Lauren Morelli traded orange for white and wed in a confetti-themed ceremony in Palm Springs, Calif., according to Martha Stewart Weddings. Samira, whose beloved portrayal of Poussey Washington on the acclaimed series has captured hearts everywhere, met Lauren on set where Lauren's worked as a writer for the show since the first season. In 2014, Lauren shared the intimate story about how she divorced her husband after realizing she was gay while writing for the show, leading to a beautiful, joy-filled relationship with Samira. After two years of dating and five months before they tied the knot, Samira and Lauren melted hearts with their engagement announcement, where the couple’s beaming grins glow behind a princess-cut diamond on Samira’s finger in a picture posted to Samira's Instagram.

Underneath the warm California sun in the same place where they got engaged, the brides stunned in elegant ensembles custom designed by Christian Siriano, Samira wearing a sweetheart neckline, off-the-shoulder structured ball gown and Lauren donning an incredibly chic pantsuit with a cap-sleeved jeweled overlay leading to a beautiful flowing cape. After a ceremony officiated by Samira's parents, the newlyweds made a statement, entering their reception to Justin Bieber's “Baby” before sharing a first dance accompanied by an energetic confetti explosion. It comes as no surprise that the animated brides have an affinity for Funfetti cake, inspiring a confetti-filled celebration designed by Beth Helmstetter Events, captured by Jose VillaThe confetti theme threaded vibrant color throughout the reception, as colorful garlands hung from the ceiling above tables decorated with bright floral arrangements and colorful glassware.

We couldn't be happier for these two, who took to Instagram to share just how thrilled they are to be married.

Here's 1/1000th of how excited we are today.
