As our country eagerly awaits the Supreme Court decision on marriage equality, Hillary Clinton‘s campaign released an emotional YouTube video that drives home exactly what a ruling for equality means for so many couples.
Against the backdrop of multiple love stories unfolding in different facets of their lives — proposals, wedding days, births of children — Clinton speaks on how far we've come and what it took to get to where we are today.
“This progress was not easily won. People fought and organized and campaigned in public spaces squares and private spaces to change not only laws but hearts and minds.”
“Some have suggested that gay rights and human rights are separate and distinct,” Clinton said in the video. “But in fact, they are one in the same.”
