Weddings are a magical time, and sometimes the stars align in ways you couldn’t have imagined. On Breanna and David’s wedding day, after they had said I do and shared their first kiss as a married couple, some unlikely visitors turned up off the rocky cliffs behind the ceremony. Just off the coast of the San Juan Islands, pictures by Suzanne Rothmeyer Photography were interrupted as the wedding party dashed to the cliffs just in time to catch a group of orcas rise to the surface as they passed through. It was extra special for Breanna and David, who studied orcas at Lime Kiln while they were dating, so it’s no surprise they chose to return there for their wedding day. We love that the whales just couldn’t pass up the opportunity for a celebratory hello.
