We're always on the lookout for the next big thing when it comes to designers in the wedding world, and House of Ollichon has IT. The collections are handmade in England using quality European fabrics such as luxury Italian tissutos, 100 percent silk crepe de chine, French lace and British embellishments and trimmings. Each outfit is priced modestly at around $1,000 and there are options. Lots of them. Two-pieces, jumpsuits, playsuits … the collection is brimming with personality.
Designer Hannah Ollichon was inspired to create the collection after having a difficult time finding an outfit for her own wedding. “I was so lucky to marry my lovely, French husband twice. After a very simple ‘friends only' registry office, followed by a big wedding in France, I had experienced both ends of the wedding spectrum. I took longer finding the outfit for my registry office wedding than I did for the actual proper big wedding. So I decided to create something and see if we could fill that niche in the market.”
“We did a lot of market research into same-sex weddings and one of the stories that stuck with me was a lovely girl who said she'd be looking for a men's suit. No female should get married in a men's suit!” she exclaims. “I tried to design this collection with such an array of characters in mind.”
